Senior Tax Associate
Location: Purchase ( Upper Westchester), NY
Base Pay: 95k plus Benefits
This position is responsible for supporting the complete tax cycle for global industry.
This individual will work under the direction of the Senior Tax Manager and will be responsible for the projection of income taxes, FAS 109 accounting, US federal and state tax return compliance as it relates to the US Form 1120 and various research tasks and projections.
This position reports to Senior Manager of Tax Administration.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for understanding the organization business operations in order to fully support the company's tax planning initiatives.
Preparation and review of various Division FAS 109 schedules needed for quarterly and year-end financial statement reporting. Work with local business units to prepare understand the key components of the Annual Operating Plan, tax provision forecasts and cash flow projections.
Responsible for preparation of Division US federal income tax return workpapers including foreign branch activity and US incorporated foreign operations. Initiate and work to resolve tax issues with Divisional Coordinators as they arise in both the compliance process and ongoing operations.
Support the federal quarterly estimates and extension computations for the organization & affiliates as assigned.
Responsible for preparation of certain federal tax disclosures, elections and other items that will be incorporated in the final version of the US federal tax return.
Preparation of certain complex unitary and nexus-combined state income and franchise tax returns for the organization as well as the related estimated payments.
Support the Senior Manager with research, projections, special projects and audit issues as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four to seven years of tax experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
Certified Public Accountant with large firm experience, preferred.
Proficient use of computers, including tax preparation software. Knowledge of Corp tax a plus.
Able to work independently with good communication skills
Prefer:
Masters of Science degree in taxation.
